Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet Embarks on Official Visit to Thailand

PHNOM PENH: Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet is set to travel to Thailand for an official visit on February 7th, 2024. The invitation comes from his Thai counterpart, Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, aiming to strengthen ties and collaboration between the two nations.

Prime Minister Hun Manet, accompanied by the first lady Dr. PICH Chanmony Hun Manet, will be joined by a high-level delegation. This includes Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister Sok Chenda Sophea (Minister of Foreign Affairs), senior ministers, key government officials, and business leaders from Cambodia's Chamber of Commerce.

Prime Minister Hun Manet is expected to be granted a Royal Audience by King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua and hold separate meetings with leaders of the Thai parliament. Key discussions will involve bilateral and multilateral cooperation across various areas of shared interest. Additionally, several collaboration agreements are expected to be signed during the visit.

As a highlight, Hun Manet will deliver opening remarks at a Cambodia-Thailand Business Forum, fostering stronger economic ties between the two nations.

This official visit serves as a crucial step in reinforcing the long-standing friendship and historical connections between Cambodia and Thailand. Following the spirit of their "Enhanced Partnership for Peace and Prosperity," the visit aims to bring mutual benefits for both countries, contributing to regional peace, stability, and prosperity within the ASEAN region and beyond.
